Mutagenix.org: The home of Dan Barber
Welcome to my little corner on the web. My name is Dan Barber and I am a Linux System / Network Administrator with 14 years of experience. Links to my projects will be added to the menu as they are ready.I am currently finishing up the next version of the Mutagenix LiveCD which I expect to release withing the next couple weeks to a month. As of now, it will be version 2.6.29.3.
The Slackware PXE kickstart/handsfree auto-installer script that I've provided is at a stable state for an NFS install. Other options, and other combinations of options, have not been tested (SMB, HTTP, FTP installs). This was a rough go, once over script that I needed for a project, so in-depth error checking and testing was not a priority. If you find the script useful, and are able to improve upon it, please send me the diff files and I'll incorporate.
Lean Engineering seems to me to be analogous to the open source philosophy in its concept of Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) for manufacturing and business systems. As part of my work with a manufacturing company I spent a couple months learning Lean and found it to be an amazing concept and, if implemented correctly, I think it could make a huge difference in a company's efficiency. So, this Xfig library is my contribution to Lean. Enjoy.
Visit my profile on imdb.com. I participated in the making of one movie as a production assistant, stand-in, double, extra and a sherriff (not a speaking role) in a low-budget film which starred Joe Mantegna (Currently with the Criminal Minds television series). Great experience, but probably the last time I do something like that. Joe was a very nice guy. From a couple reviews on IMDB:
"Story takes a little while to get going, but once the hunt is on, things really take off. Yes, Ms DeLuca is naked for a good part of the second half but..."
"Joe Mantegna is a fine actor. What is he doing in this? Has he finally reached the point in his career where he'll do anything for money? Anyway, he was wasted in a thankless supporting role..."
