Mutagenix is a suite of Slackware based LiveCDs. Currently (2.6.18.6-2), the suite consists of a rescue disk and a KDE desktop disk -- I am looking for a reasonable GNOME install to use for the Mutagenix GNOME disk. The desktop's each have the rescue disk as the underpinning foundation with all the tools that come with a rescue disk available.

Mutagenix is built on Slackware Linux and uses Slapt-get as the foundation for the Mutagenix build system. A simple hard-drive installation tool is included. The build system is available for download in the download sections and includes copious notes on building the kernel and supporting software for making your own LiveCD.

It is also extremely easy to boot up on Mutagenix, add and remove programs, configure to your taste and then remaster a new CD image. Burn it to disk and you have your own customized Mutagenix LiveCD.

License

Mutagenix is a collection of free and opensource software. Most of it is licensed under the GPL, but each software package comes with it's own license... be sure to check the specifics for each package if the license is of concern. No binary-only software is included on the Mutagenix LiveCDs. If you find such a package, please let us know immediately. The sources for included GPL'ed software is available on hard media by mail for US $30.00 + shipping.

Mutagenix itself is freely distributable.
