Lean Manufacturing Library for Xfig

I've been working on current and future state maps (value stream mapping) for a manufacturing company and decided that once I had the hand drawing done, I'd like to be able to print out the skeleton so I could play with various ideas of processing without redrawing the entire map every time. Digital copies would also allow me to share the maps easily with others involved in the process.

Xfig is my diagramming solution of choice, but I was unable to find a lean manufacturing library. So I created one. You can download it here. If you're not familiar with Xfig, it can be found at xfig.org. There is a Windows version as well, but I don't know how well that works. I understand that Xfig libraries also work with the Dia, but have not tested.

Once I have a hand drawing done, I build an empty template which I can fill out by hand as things change or as ideas pop up.

This library is completely free to use as you wish. For those of you out there considering purchasing VSM software, this should save you a bit of money. If you feel you can't accept something for nothing, then feel free to click on the yellow button above and donate a bit to the cause.

If you make improvements and wish to contribute the changes back to the library for everyone's use, please email me at dan@mutagenix.org
